Phụng's Family
Since this project revolves around Trần Thị Phụng's life, some photos were not included the Timeline of photos. Instead, this specific collection highlights the individuals in the photos and their relationship to Phụng. Names will be listed from order of left to right unless otherwise mentioned. Trần Thị Phụng
Both photos are portraits of Trần Thị Phụng. While she does not recall when exactly these photos were taken, she believes they were taken before 1975.
Trần Thị Loan
(Phụng's sister)

Trần Thị Loan is Phụng's younger sister by four and a half years. Loan remained in Vietnam to take care of their mother. The two still talk over the phone and face-time to this day.

Phan Tấn Anh

A portrait of Anh, estimated to be eight years old (1956).
Trần Thị Phụng's future husband, Phan Tấn Anh, was born in 1948 in Nha Trang. He is the eldest child of a construction and transportation empire. He was sent to the US to train in the air force before returning home.

Phan Anh Thư
(Phụng's Eldest Daughter)
Thầy Chân Tịnh, Anh Thư, and Tuấn standing behind three locals who have received donated food (2011).
Phan Anh Thư was born on March, 1975—one month before the Vietnam War officially concluded. Because of the complications during Phụng's labor, the family of three were unable to escape Vietnam that year.

Phan Thị Hoàng Anh

Phan Thị Hoàng Anh was born in 1980. She barely remembers her time in Vietnam as she mostly grew up in the United States.

Đoàn Anh Tuấn

Đoàn Anh Tuấn married Phan Anh Thư in 2003. The two met through mutual friends in college. Tuấn is also a Vietnamese refugee. He came to America when he was eighteen years old.
